As you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere immediately sets the tone. The dim lighting and wooden decor give the space an old-school charm that blends perfectly with modern touches. The menu at Jack's is exactly what you’d want from a place that calls itself a steakhouse. Of course, the star of the show is their steak, which is cooked to perfection. Whether you prefer it rare, medium, or well-done, the steaks come out juicy and full of flavor. But it’s not all about meat here; the sides are equally impressive. The mashed potatoes are creamy and rich, and the crispy Brussels sprouts are a surprising yet delightful addition. If you're feeling indulgent, the mac and cheese is worth a try too - it’s decadent, with a nice golden, crispy topping.

If you’re not in the mood for steak, Jack's has plenty of other options. The seafood dishes, like the shrimp scampi, are light yet flavorful, and the chicken parmigiana is a crowd-pleaser. For those with a bit of a sweet tooth, the dessert menu is a must-try. The chocolate lava cake is a standout, with its molten center that’s every bit as delicious as it sounds.

What truly sets Jack's Bar And Steakhouse apart, though, is the service. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a smile and made to feel at home. What People's Say About Place

My first time at Jacks was truly uplifting, the moment I arrived they only had drinks. DJ's play incredibly music different genres. I am eager to go back and experience their food.

Would have rated higher. However, the furnishings, booths, bathrooms, and floors are dirty and old. They need a good renovation. Everything felt sticky. Unfortunately, we also noticed a lot of flies, flying around; which are never a good sign. A big bug zapper was near us near the water area in the corner. Flies were crawling in our booth and around us, and the fly landed on my hubby's plate. He couldn't enjoy his food. We were fanning flies the entire time. There were flies in the ladies' bathroom, and the bathroom door was broken. Too much. Somethings going on. Food and service are good, but if you're not drinking, you notice everything; and we're not drinkers. I've been here several times before, even for a surprise 50th birthday dinner, my family gave me 2 years ago.

Excellent service and a vibrant atmosphere made my date night truly memorable. The dinner was terrific, and the drinks were delightful.

Stopped in for brunch and was thoroughly impressed. The service was amazing, and the food was delicious. They have a full bar which offers a wide selection of cocktails. Their menu ranges from seafood, to steak, to classic brunch favorites. For appetizers, my table started with the oysters, calamari, and the wings. The wings were perfectly crispy and flavorful. Our entrees consisted of seafood pasta, as well as brunch favorites like the chicken and waffle, loaded omelette, and crab cake eggs Benedict. We all enjoyed our meal. We concluded with chocolate mousse for dessert. I recommend for your next brunch experience.

The food was delicious!!! Steak was cooked to perfection! The calamari was delicious and im not a favorite of calamari. But they cooked it to perfectly with the right seasoning! The penned pasta was absolutely delicious! Italiano style! Drinks were on point and the service was great. Thanks Laura! Five stars!!!!!

My friends and I celebrated a birthday at this establishment, a party of 7. Despite making a reservation days in advance, upon arrival, we found half of the restaurant reserved for another party, resulting in a brief 15-20 minute wait for seating. The bustling ambiance attested to its popularity. Eventually seated in a tight side room filled with guests, we indulged in superb drinks, particularly the espresso martini! The seating was a big uncomfortable as it was very tight. The culinary offerings were a mixed bag. Personally, I savored a delectable burger, while some friends found their dishes merely satisfactory; the pasta, in particular, lacked the wow factor. Also the octopus ordered was lacking in pairing as it did not include anything and was a very small portion. Despite these minor hiccups, the overall experience was commendable. The only downside was the initial confusion and the snug seating arrangements due to the restaurant's full capacity. Despite these minor inconveniences, we had an enjoyable evening and relished the food. I would eagerly return, perhaps at a less busy time, to savor the ambiance and cuisine anew.

Jack’s Steakhouse in New Haven absolutely impressed us from start to finish. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and inviting—modern, warm, and full of great energy. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel like you’re in for something special. The food was outstanding—every dish we had was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. You can really tell that quality and attention to detail are a top priority here. It’s classic steakhouse fare, elevated in all the right ways. The service was equally exceptional. Our server was professional, friendly, and incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. We felt genuinely taken care of, and that always takes a meal from good to great. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want an unforgettable meal, Jack’s is 100% worth the visit. We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back. Highly, highly recommend!

First time in New Haven, visiting family in the local hospital, seen steak house and we immediately said YES! We ate at the bar, was greeted by Laura and let me tell you service was amazing! Coming from 15 years of the restaurant/hospitality industry I appreciate everything about Laura and her work. Ordered lobster tostone, lamb lollipops , bread ( was so good) and a Tomahawk steak, we ordered it medium but it came out medium well, it was so well seasoned that I decided to not complain. Twice baked potatoes came out hot and amazing , and Brussels sprouts was so crispy! Food was a amazing and I would definitely come back to see Laura and enjoy another steak, with the correct temp lol! As far as atmosphere it’s comfortable and upscale however something go against it, the bar had visual syrups for their drinks , the environment and quality of food would call for some organic purées not syrups, and the ladies room was a mess, door held open by the trash , toilet paper on the floor , hair in the sink , broken stall doors. I expected a better considering however I would come back just to enjoy Laura’s company and some good food!!
